Fresh from the 2019 event, Overkiz is back with highlights from our time at Le Mondial du Bâtiment, celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. All the ingredients were there to make this event an excellent debut, including innovative products, technological performance, and persuasive demonstrations.
Show attendees
Although digital technology and the energy transition have largely found their place within Batimat, Interclima, and Idéobain, emerging as this year’s key trends, connected solutions had a more lukewarm showing. Overkiz, the SBA (Smart Building Alliance), and a few other manufacturers were all there, stepping up as standard bearers for this booming market. Integrators, electricians, heating specialists, architects, equipment manufacturers, and developers—whether new or experienced in the Internet of Things—have all shown real interest in interoperable connected solutions that allow them to improve their efficiency and simplify installations and operations for individual and collective residential projects involving new construction or renovation.
The plethora of brands and connected products at our booth (Legrand switches; Somfy roller shutters, gate, and smart lock; Amazon Alexa voice assistant; Urmet video intercom; Sonos sound speakers; and much more) affirmed the powerful interoperability and openness of our IoT platform.
Our demonstration, which focused on controlling a home’s connected devices from a Renault Zoe electric car, generated a lot of buzz. Beyond the “wow!” effect it created, our innovative technological demonstration showed the extent of our know-how and the bridges that now exist between smart homes and smart cars, through real-world daily life scenarios that left a big impact. What better to make an impression and boost our brand among a large audience of visitors!

Invested partners committed to connected solutions
Our partners and customers also dedicated a portion of their space to connected solutions that we developed for them. These include Atlantic, who presented their Cozytouch connected solution. TaHoma, Somfy’s comprehensive solution for the residential and non-residential sectors, and Hitachi’s Hi-Kumo Pro, a remote maintenance solution developed by Overkiz, were also on display at their respective booths. Saunier Duval, a member of Vaillant Group, recreated the inside of an apartment at its booth, featuring smart thermostats and boilers that are compatible with the Overkiz platform.
Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who came to see us and to each and every one of our partners, who made this event a big success for our brand, our technology, and our solutions:
Avidsen Pro, Groupe Atlantic, Comelit Immotec, Danfoss, Legrand, Miliboo, Nexelec, NodOn, Osram, Philips Hue, Renault, Sauter Régulations, Schneider Electric, Somfy, Sonos, Ubiwizz, and Urmet.
