Over the past three years, our teams have extensively modernized the Overkiz IoT platform to make it faster, more flexible, and more scalable. This transformation enables us to better support manufacturers, property developers, and distributors in developing their connected services, while preparing confidently for the challenges of tomorrow.
Preparing for the Future Today
The platform has supported our customers for many years. However, to address new use cases, simplify partner integrations, and achieve our goal of connecting 100 million devices by 2030, it became essential to evolve towards a more flexible, modular, and efficient model.
Three Years of Deep Modernization
This transformation was carried out progressively over three years, with each year representing a key step towards a simpler, more robust, and more scalable platform.
2023 – Laying the Foundations for a New Platform
To strengthen collaboration and improve productivity, we first equipped our teams with new tools, simplifying interactions between different areas of expertise.
At the same time, workshops and training sessions supported teams in adopting new ways of working that are more collaborative and agile, driven by a DevOps culture that was gradually embraced across the organization. This was also the year when the first microservices were introduced, paving the way for a more flexible architecture.
2024 – Accelerating and Simplifying
The following year marked a significant acceleration. Deployments were automated, making releases faster and more reliable.
The platform evolved towards a more modular architecture, enhanced by real-time monitoring capabilities that provide greater visibility into performance and quality. At the same time, 70% of development and testing environments became ephemeral. Provisioned on demand, these environments place agility at the heart of our DevOps approach.
2025 – Scaling with Confidence
Building on these foundations, the platform reached a new level of maturity. It is now capable of supporting up to 10 million connected gateways while ensuring smooth, uninterrupted updates for users.
The platform is powered by a Kubernetes-orchestrated infrastructure that has been validated under high-load conditions to ensure reliability and scalability. This milestone confirms our ability to innovate and deploy faster, with confidence.
